All together, these have an aggregate area of 17,892,088 square feet of pave surface area (.64 square miles).  Again, this omits radii of paving at corners of intersections, on and off ramps, center median turn lanes and turn lanes in general, a very conservative figure.

If we converted all of these to 14' wide cycling roads, then we would reduce the total square footage for these roads to 7,051,716 square feet, a 60.59% reduction!

If we combine this with the highways, we have a total of 58,716,457 square feet, or about 2.11 square miles.  Give give a sense of scale, below is an image that shows 2.1 square miles overlaid on downtown Orlando.  Imagine a field roughly 1.4 miles by 1.4 miles, entire paved in concrete and asphalt, no trees, no lakes, just flat, hard paving.  That's what we're talking about, and we haven't even begun to evaluate the private drives, and eventually all off street parking.
